Wondrous Night

​

Look up at the night sky, dear.

See all the stars shining bright for you.

This night will come to an end, I fear,

so enjoy this beautiful view.

The full round moon is out tonight.

The crickets are chirping with life.

A cool breeze is present this night.

It seems that, against us, the crickets strife.

​

Some say "stay wild, moon child."

But you know that right now, you are the opposite.

The sun starts to rise so you smile.

Not because the night is over, but because you love the wondrous sight.

So say goodbye to the night.

And good morning to the bright day ahead.
