Song of Myself

I celebrate myself, and sing myself.

The view that my eyes focus on in the mirror is humanity.

I engage and work to wipe the fog from my vision.

Is the girl that is reflected deflected from the light?

Can she absorb all the colors and layers and textures of what she is surrounded by?

My celebration needs work—a rethinking of things.

The trophies, the ribbons and medals are simple.

I must use the horizon to pencil in the accomplishments that matter.

Clarity is far away

But close by.

I feel deeply for the people I love.

I think creatively and complexly to chart my path.

I laugh quietly and mischievously at the world around me.

My song may not be musical, but

My value and worth is remarkable.
