Renegades

 

Sometimes, I look up into the sky

I wonder how midnight and starlight collide

The expanse of the darkness

Oblivion

I ponder and question and drill my head

Still

I can't grasp the sights

I can't imagine the vast

Yet here we are only two inches tall

Standing on a globe that can destroy us all

And we can cry and break right down till we fall

But we'll all be gone and our memories fade

When we're burning to ash and passing away

And then we'll perish from the earth we've made

 

Living on a grenade

But we can live while we may

Try as we might

We can conquer the world

We can thrive and can fight

To live in the mindset of dying tonight

Do what you'd never and never regret

You don't know your capabilities when you haven't tried yet

Don't back down and don't be afraid because

Even though we live on a grenade

We're strivers, survivors

We're renegades.
